Drama and Performance at Ivel Valley Special School & College
From 2026 to 2028, we will work alongside students, staff and families at Ivel Valley Special School & College to develop and explore innovative approaches to drama and theatre-based learning. Together, we will co-create and deliver a high-quality Drama and Theatre Learning Programme that reflects the strengths, interests, and aspirations of the school community.
At the heart of the project is a belief that every young person is an artist. Through creative exploration, performance and storytelling, students will be supported to develop confidence, communication skills, self-expression and creativity. The project will also create opportunities for professional learning and skills development for school staff, helping to embed creative practice across the wider school environment.
Working in partnership with children, young people and the school community, we will challenge assumptions about aspiration, achievement and access to the arts. By placing the voices and experiences of SEND young people at the centre of the work, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for creative learning and participation that celebrate each individual’s potential.
