my museum

We’re thrilled to share the news that we’ve secured funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to launch a brand-new project.

My Museum is an exciting new project bringing children and families together to explore and reimagine the exquisite Wardown House, Museum & Gallery in Luton. We launched the project in summer 2024 with ‘The Fabric of Luton’ – a powerful new performance paired with hands-on art workshops led by local artist, Shabeena Parveen. These creative sessions were showcased at primary schools and Desi Fest, bringing vibrancy, colour and imagination to local audiences.

At our annual February half term children’s arts festival ‘Feb Fest’, we invited families to join our Full House Detective for ‘The Wonder Hour’. This brand-new fun-filled experience offered an interactive storytelling adventure, where we unearthed and explored the magical hidden stories of the museum.

‘The Wonder Hour’ enabled us to connect with local families and identify what about the museum truly resonated with them. Moving forward, we’re excited to nurture and develop these connections. Keep an eye out for our upcoming public pop-up events in community spaces where playful characters will introduce fascinating objects from the museum. Your voice matters –  so be sure to come along and help shape a brand-new interactive family trail with us at Wardown House, Museum & Gallery in Luton.

As part of our next phase of this project, we are taking some of the Wardown Museum collections on tour to schools and community venues!
